Emergency Excess Hospital/Medical Travel Insurance:

If the insured is not covered by any other policy or if the insured’s primary insurance doesn’t cover accidents or sickness while in Mexico, Company will pay the insured or the licensed medical provider for all eligible medical expenses up to the insured sum, in excess of the deductible specified on the application form.

Eligible Medical Expenses:

A. Medical Emergency Hospital Confinement: Hospitalization due to a medical Emergency. Starting at the time the Insured is admitted to Hospital and ending at the time of the release. Once the Insured is released from the Hospital, no additional and subsequent medical treatment will be paid if it is related to the Accident and / or Sickness that did caused the Emergency.

B. Licensed Medical Physician Fees: The services of a Licensed Medical Physician currently registered and licensed in accordance with the regulations applying in the jurisdiction where the Physician practices. Dentist, chiropractor and physiotherapists fees are excluded.

C. X-ray Examinations: X-ray examinations and diagnostic laboratory procedures when performed at time of Emergency.

D. Medicines and/or Drugs: Medicines and/or drugs (excluding vitamins, minerals and dietary supplements) prescribed by the attending Licensed Medical Physician for a maximum period of 30 days. While the Insured Person is confined to Hospital the Company will pay the total cost of such medicines and/or drugs for the Hospitalization period.

E. Automatic Extensions to Coverage: This Policy, after termination of any one Period of Coverage, will be automatically extended:

1. For 72 hours in the event a Delayed Common Carrier prevents the Insured from leaving Mexico.

2. If the Insured is hospitalized during the term of this Policy, for the period of Hospital confinement plus 72 hours after release for him to travel home.
